A simple community request to put a new bench in the dog walking area on Sussex Rec was funded through Big Local

In the corner of Sussex Recreation Ground, near the back of the Memorial Hall, is a fenced off dog walking area. We received feedback from residents that older people walking their dogs didn’t have somewhere to sit.
So, thanks to a small investment from Big Local North Cleethorpes in 2023, dog walkers now have somewhere to sit – a bench was funded and installed and has proved popular ever since.
And visitors to the area still have use of the toilet facilities within the Sidney Sussex Pavilion building which also welcomes four-legged visitors!
