Setting up Clee.TV channel helped Hammond House get further funding to expand online video content around a Heritage Culture Channel
When? 2019-2025 and beyond
Partners: Hammond House Publishing. Arts Council. Heritage Lottery Fund
The Heritage Channel on Youtube and Facebook is dedicated to exploring the history of North East Lincolnshire through video including the seaside town of Cleethorpes and the port of Grimsby. A monthly news round-up reports on heritage issues and stories. Longer documentaries will delve deeper into the proud heritage of our coastal community.
The channel, which benefits the whole of Cleethorpes, is run and managed by Hammond House Productions and was sponsored primarily by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It includes a wealth of videos going all the way back to 2019 and at the end of Big Local in 2025, the Heritage channel was still going strong.
Big Local North Cleethorpes has not had to directly financially support this venture. However, it’s an example of an expanded impact through something Big Local started. Big Local funded the CleeTV online channels via Hammond House, and as a direct result Hammond House was able to leverage in further, additional, considerable funding to create and run the Heritage channel. The seed investment by Big Local may well have helped the birth of this Heritage Channel too.
