Big Local was supportive of the work Daubney Street Neighbourhood Watch Group was doing with families and young people in their street
When? 2015-2023
Daubney Street Neighbourhood Watch – led by Mr & Mrs Ellis – has always been a proactive NWG. Over the years Big Local North Cleethorpes has supported the group to in turn support the neighbours and residents down their street.
Some funding was originally given around 2015 to allow the residents to plant out some bedding plants in pots stationed on the pavements down their street.
Over the years additional funds have been provided when the residents have been improving their alleyways and making them greener and more attractive.
The NWG is also proactive running events for the children in the street. Often these have been in the Summer or around Easter or Halloween and have involved activities in their own alley way or at local parks. Both Big Local North Cleethorpes and CYC The Hangout have contributed to these activities over the years – paying for craft materials, plants, pots or whatever the group has needed.
VANEL and Big Local North Cleethorpes have also supported the group with the provision of items of security equipment when schemes and funding have been available to allow items to be provided. Dozens of residents down the street received window alarms, panic alarms and a few CCTVs.
Daubney Street has been an example of where residents have come together to support each other, and in turn have been able to come to Big Local and other partners to get yet more support.
