We tackled a variety of approaches to our very local green environment around our community hub at 82 Grimsby Road
When? established 2021 and still going green 2025
Once the yard at 82 Grimsby Road was tidy after the construction of the “Red Shed”, it was time to improve the yard itself.
A local builder created some raised beds for us and various volunteers have helped plant them up and keep them tidy as part of our “plant pot” garden. Keen gardeners such as local resident and committee member Alan Johnson helped keep the planters looking good whilst showing others how to maintain them.
Our Little Green Influencers Group has had occasional sessions in the garden so our very youngest local residents could get their hands dirty and we’ve hosted a number of green/environmental family days at the community hub to make the most of the space.
We’ve installed benches and a picnic table to help with outdoor social events and we have a water butt (and for a while a ‘hot composter’).
Those visiting the building for any sort of event have a great outdoor space to welcome them when weather permits.
