Mural at Cleethorpes Community Firestation

Big Local funded a wall mural painted inside Cleethorpes Community Fire Station in Poplar Road to reflect the history of the fire station

When? Painted 2017. Mural still in place
Partners: Creative Start. Cleethorpes Fire Station

For a number of years, Big Local held our meetings at Poplar Road Community Fire Station. It was decided to reflect and record the history of the Fire Station in a commissioned piece of wall art. Creative Start CIC worked with local artists and young people and they were commissioned to produce the artwork on the corridor wall inside the Fire Station.

For a small investment from Big Local a new piece of community art was able to reflect the history of the Fire Station.

Creative Start CIC work with young people and more vulnerable people and all of these volunteers were able to have a great experience producing the mural. Funding from Big Local to Creative Start was recycled within the community to fund further arts projects involving their service users.

Big Local North Cleethorpes were very grateful to the team at the Fire Station for the long term use we had of the building for our meetings. In a show of thanks, Big Local donated some gym equipment to the team at the fire station when we left.
