It’s been quite a journey. Follow the Big Local North Cleethorpes story from 2012 to 2025
Big Local North Cleethorpes is part of a UK wide initiative which always claimed to invest £1m into over 100 communities to be spent over the course of 10 years.
But in reality that journey has been even longer than the advertised 10 years. We started our journey locally around 2011/12 starting to bid for the funding. Then in 2013 we started to engage the community for the first time, before getting going on some real projects by 2014.
Wind forward another 10 years and Big Local North Cleethorpes officially winds down. In January 2025, Big Local North Cleethorpes finally closed, leaving, we hope, many supported local people, a changed community and some legacy projects.
The timeline below is simple and doesn’t reflect ever project, but it gives a good flavour of our journey over the years.
