This social club for Naval veterans in Cleethorpes was in need of urgent repairs. As a local asset to the community Big Local was able to help<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Royal Naval Association has a club in Alexandra Road, Cleethorpes which is well used by local service personnel and veterans as well as other members of the local community. The club had fallen into disrepair threatening its future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Big Local North Cleethorpes reviewed what the Association needed at the club and realised that it formed a valuable local facility for the community – many of whom were veterans, or older or even vulnerable. Many of the members came from the direct area around North Cleethorpes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Repairs were needed to the heating system and the roof as well as doing internal refurbishment and decoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Naval Association themselves managed to get a \u00a39000 grant to assist with the repairs and they invested a small amount of their own funds too to add to the Big Local investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the work was completed with an investment of nearly \u00a315000 from Big Local North Cleethorpes, the club had a new lease of life to hopefully help the community for another ten years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Statistics show that nearly 20% of the membership of the naval association are from the North Cleethorpes area of benefit and would therefore were able to directly benefit from our investment. This was also a great example project of partnership working supported by additional external grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
