We\u2019ve funded a range of arts, crafts and urban arts related workshops and sessions for young people to get them excited about and involved with the arts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When? 2021-2025

One of the things that arose from running the Youth Group was that young people were telling us that they wanted to \u2018do art\u2019. So, through an ongoing relationship with local artist Lynsey Powles, we were able to offer a range of support for Lyns to deliver \u2018art workshops\u2019 to local young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the support of funding from Big Local North Cleethorpes or via CYC The Hangout, Lyns ran a series of workshops.
Several sets of sessions (around 4-8 sessions each time) were delivered from the Red Shed at the rear of 82 Grimsby Road. These involved \u2018gonk making\u2019; space painting; spray painting; crafts sessions and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, we were able, with partners VANEL to bring in some funding through the Office of the Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner for some diversionary sessions which again involved young people. Some of these sessions were outside at the Pavilion as well as at our Red Shed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the two Urban Arts Festivals in 2022 and 2023, sponsorship of the event also meant that Lyns and partners were able to run a variety of crafts workshops for the young people at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre over both weekends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And finally, when, in 2024, Lyns and partners We Are Fish were able to open the TickART Office<\/a> at the Railway Station, CYC The Hangout was able to provide some funding to allow another series of workshops to take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through a few dozens sessions over the past few years, perhaps 30 local Cleethorpes Young People have been able to enjoy getting involved with the arts. With a bit of luck some of this enthusiasm will continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Big Local have supported lots of workshops for young people, its about the next generation and passing skills on and the funding has helped a lot<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
