Big Local has commissioned a number of public art pieces over the years and we then assembled an ‘Art Trail’ to help residents find their way around Cleethorpes urban art
When? 2024
Across Cleethorpes there are many examples of Urban Art to enjoy. Big Local North Cleethorpes has actively supported the creation of some of this art by commissioning local artists, as well as through sponsorship of the North Cleethorpes Fringe Festival as part of the annual Reclaim Urban Arts Festival during 2022 and 2023. And many other artists have been commissioned separately by projects and businesses to prepare artworks.
In 2024 as another piece of artwork was being painted on the Pitstop in the Park by local artist Lyns Powles (commissioned by Big Local North Cleethorpes), we decided to produce a simple Art Trail to link all the current and emerging artwork that can be found around North Cleethorpes.
The aim of the trail was also to help residents to get out and explore and discover both the art itself and their local area. Showcasing the work of local artists too was a bonus.
Those interested in exploring the trail can visit the webpage and there is also a Google Map showing the locations of artwork.

The purpose of the Art Trail is not just to promote the artwork that Big Local North Cleethorpes has sponsored. It’s to celebrate the work of all the artists that cheer up our urban space around North Cleethorpes and it’s a reason to get local residents out and about and enjoying art on their doorstep.
